BOP Server Details + Announcement

The Birds of Prey (Heli Wars) server is now LIVE.

Many times we've talked about reviving the server and for whatever reason the timing wasn't perfect. We all had something that kept us AFK. Well now is the time to get the old pc from the shitter and back online.
All maps are made for helo wars, including our El Alamein Day 3 training map. So if you need to shake off the webs, come in and I will personally kill you endlessly until I see improvement. JK. We're here to help :P

We mostly play Friday evening (7pm US Central).
Log in, leave a message, and lets get a nice big game going [BOP] style!

It was great to have Rebel back into the game last night.
It didn't take him long to get right back into the groove of flying and fighting.

I hope some more members check-in and join in on the renewed fun.
For now, we are planning on playing every Friday night with as many as show and stay.

What a great time I had trying to hold my own again [BOP] Ray last night.
This guy hasn't missed a thing after all of this time.
It reminds me again of how much raw talent we had in BOP.

We need to continually try to reach out to former players to build our player base.

tdawg/rebel, is there anyway possible to build an email base from the member list?
You just never know who will respond.

Thanks, tdawg for everything you're doing.
It's hard enough to find the bandwidth to reinvest your time into an old game you left, but to go above and beyond is even more admirable and very appreciated.

Thanks Tona! I love getting back into this. I'm starting to get that addiction again to keep working on things behind the scenes. Very Happy

Also, I have started a spreadsheet on all the members on the site. There is a total of 218 members (five pages worth). Shocked

, so going to take a bit. I will work on it in my spare time.

Update:

I have completed reaching out via email to the member list.
After deleting all of the non-existing emails, like hotmail, msn...I started with 106 contacts.
I developed a standard email linking our website.
(boy, if Rebby can get this thing operating fully, this could get really exciting)

I have a total of 60 emails that sent successfully. These are good emails.
46 emails were bad.
17 were BOP members

I've received 2 responses already.
BOP Kole - sent a link for full 1942 + DC install
BOP Tommyknocker (responded immediately with "I'm definitely interested in playing again...send me the links"
(on this one, I know his dad (now 71) used to play and has loaded the game. He also had a couple of brothers that played)
Of course, BOip has already made contact.

Also, |sRs| Moose and Genius and Widowmaker emails were still good even though the players using sRs email were not...word could get out.
Also Matt, at VT's, the email was good even though the VT email was not...word could get out.
Unfortunately, some key, former BOP's emails are no longer valid...axe for one.

We will now wait and see.

Rebel has been in contact, and I have set him up with accessing all the files on the website. He sounds eager to get started, but he will definitely need some time to get things going. Please be patient as I KNOW he will get things done. Very Happy
